I am the PTA president at our school. We have an agenda before each meeting so I have an idea of what will be discussed. Also, I am the one that runs the meetings so if I am unable to attend a meeting, we reschedule the meeting. If the meeting must go on I believe it is your responsibility to reach out to the VP and find out what happened.
on the day of our meeting I was moving and I couldn't attend the meeting and since we dont have a secratary to keep minutes, I had to talk with the principal to get the updates. My VP had't talked to me or called me to let me know anything. so I m ight have to change the VP that I have or not I just need to make it clear that IF and that is a very big IF I am not attending a meeting that she needs to take notes and call me.
I am also PTO Prez and my question would be why are there meetings you are not present for? Maybe I am overcontroling but no one has meetings without me there, no email is send without my approval and I am always copied on all emails. I can only begin to think of how hard it would be to do your job when you dont know what is going on! Good luck!!
I am the New PTG President of my school and I am finding it diffucult to have information relayed to me, when I am not in attendance of a meeting. Committees have be created and events have been scheduled and I am the last to know and in fact I have to ask the principal for the information because the principal finds it not necessary to have mintues taken at the meetings just attendance. I truly dont feel as if I am in control of the group and the say so's. What do I do? Do I make decisions without telling the principal or do I just let things remain the same( I wont last to long if that's the case!) Thanks!!!!
