Way to go GM--keep flying and take all that good stuff and put it in your kit bag to remember if things are rough. There's nothing like that feeling of success...!
I don't know if this is the right forum, but I'm just coming apart at the seams and my husband just can't listen anymore...lolol (literally, he is asleep...lol)
We had our 1st meeting of the year last night, and it was my first meeting as the President. Although I knew everything was well prepared and I truly had a wonderful peace about the meeting; naturally there were 1st meeting jitters present.
Our agenda included a county school health department representative to answer 4 specific questions I hear repeatedly concerning Swine Flu and what to expect for our school. It went over very well and we even had post-presentation questions!! We normally have such a quiet group when it comes to interaction and I was thrilled we had good, pertinent questions!
We then had a few quick business items, the results from our Annual Pumpkin/Gourd Silent Auction (which resulted in 33 entries pulling in over $600!! WOOHOOO!!) followed by a fantastic performance by our 4th and 5th grade class! They always do a fantastic job, we are blessed with a wonderful Music Teacher!!
The time after the meeting was probably as exciting, or more than, the meeting! I had so many parents and teachers last night, this morning, and this afternoon giving all of the officers fantastic feedback! "So grateful for the informational topic, the flow/pace of the meeting, the open and comfortable feeling, and the encouragement and draw for more parental involvement!!" type remarks (I'm focused on cracking the feeling of it being "the officers do it all" from the past few years).
I feel like my top priorities are well on the road to being accomplished and we have a wonderful year ahead of us =)
Thanks for listening to me ramble, but I knew this would be a group who could truly understand the cloud I'm on right now!! WOOOHOOOO!!
Many Blessings, Catherine
P.S. One of my treasured remarks came from our principle who emailed me a message of "You did an outstanding job last night. Like an ole pro!!!" Am I blessed, or what?! =)
