Starting over

WOW--Teresa--huge undertaking and good for you. Now--here's the good news. If you are this small...take it easy...take your time and work through things that are important first. Bylaws are important of course, and if you go to the sharing venue on these boards you will find a LOT of different examples. Your first step now though, given the size I perceive you to be talking about; is to exude warmth and welcome to your parents. Decide what you can do to bring them into your family which is focused on assisting their family. Maybe do a few comfortable things, things that are welcomed respites to smaller, more focused groups like a shared coffee opportunity with crafts; or a meet the admin day..and once you can coax folks into hearing you, seeing about your group; then you can move on to the more laborious tasks of structure. You cannot do this alone--so don't try to. Try to energize the type of support that will allow you to build a team that is interested in moving the larger group forward.

In no time...you will have a ballfield where people want to play. And trust me..."if you build it; they will come".

Good luck

I am PTF president of a very small Christian School. It is so small that we almost had to close last year due to not having a place to hold school. The church we were in no longer had room for us and we had to find another church asap. We did but the PTF has no official organization. I was asked by the administrator to head it up but have no idea how to do this. I did make up 6 chair positions that I have filled. I need to know exactly what goes into a welcome packet to hand out to parents. And I would like to see a copy of another schools bylaws to help me write ours. Any help would be appreciated.
