My group needed something voted on after our last meeting and what I did was this. I sent out a detailed email along with a special meeting date that was one week away. I asked anyone that could not attend the meeting to please email their input so that everyone's ideas and concerns were still addressed. This ended up working quite well. The meeting itself only lasted about 20 mins. since we got so much of it accomplished via email.
When does the school year end? Perhaps call a special meeting on one of the field days or something, when you know parents will probably be around anyhow?
I used the sample bylaws from here - special meetings can be called by the president with notice to the members. Wondering if it is "legal" to have the EB vote on it....
We have already had our last meeting of the school year. I am finishing up the 501c3 form and realized we don't have a conflict of interest policy in place. Do I just wait til the fall or is there a way around this?
