Our meetings don't have as big a draw ( the most I seen in the past 3 years was probably 20/22 people). Even so, we have maybe 6 tables set end to end in a U shape. The board spreads out among the tables, any anyone else can fill in the empty spaces. More chairs have been set out (surrounding table) when needed.
I'm referring to the Head Table that Tim Spoke about. It is where the executive board of our PTA sits in the front of the room facing the PTA members during our meeting.
I've never heard of a head table, but I assume its like the popular kid table. Maybe I am wrong.
If I am right, maybe you could do a drawing as people come in, have the tables numbered, and they draw the number table they should sit at. Do this each month, and make it fun by then drawing a number at the end of the meeting and whatever table you draw, everyone wins a door prize, something simple, or silly. This way everyone has fun, and everyone gets to know each other.
I agree about the Head Table, we do not want to sit there either. Our meetings are very large and we need to use a microphone to be heard. How do we get rid of the head table and sit in with everyone when we have a group of at least 75 in our slow months and on average 120 at a normal PTA meeting?
Any Ideas??
