Yes, 2 signers on EVERY check is a must. You might want to authorize your VP, too, so you can have two signers if the check is a reimbursement to you or the Pres (you shouldnt' sign a check made out to yourself). It has tons of info about being a PTO Treasurer and a CD with forms etc. I promise you'll feel more prepared if you have a copy of that binder.
