Have a heart to heart with her and let her know that the perception of her management style is a bit abrasive and demanding. It is keeping others from volunteering and she may wish to ease up a bit or consider whether she really had the time to spend being President.
If no one will step up and speak to her, nothing will change.
I am a new VP. Last year's Pres is this year's pres. again. Everyone from last year's board quit because of her and will not even participate this year. She has frequently said she doesn't have the time to make things better and simply delegates responsibility and duties to the volunteer coordinators. She doesn't make any attempt to engage the coordinators or be involved in planning. Additionally, she makes it very clear at meetings that she EXPECTS each parent to be involved because it's their responsibility. So, her management style and personality have driven off a lot of folks. I came on board to help change things and think it would be best if I asked her to step down. Have any of you been faced with such a decision?
