Online Payment of Membership Dues

I was going to suggest PAYPAL. We have an online membership form, but we ask them to send the dues to the school or bring them to a meeting. We have a mailbox at school that the teachers put our things in.

PayPal (but I think Nonprofit have to be approved for donations (ie a donate website button) but not dues, payments for events, etc) -- our nonprofit has applied just waiting for the OK

The only other way is the normal credit card accounts (ie Verisign sp?) but they can be expensive (ie either high monthly fees or percentage per card)

I just started a website with orgsites.com for our PTO, and I wanted to add an option to pay yearly membership dues online. Victoriano Elementary PTO

I've looked at online services such as Click & Pledge.com , which take credit cards, but charge a set up fee ($25) along with a percentage of each transaction (4.75%). In addition, this service sends the checks out on the 1st and 15th, and charges $2.50 per check.

SOOO...my question is, does anyone know if PTO today or any other company provides non-profits a cheap & easy way to collect membership dues online?

Much appreciation to anyone who knows or simply took time to read!!
