Help - last meeting of the year controversy! Can a committee chair dictate where the funds raised from her committee are to go? Normally all funds raised through PTO functions are put into a general fund and then allocated based on needs and requests. This chair person wants the funds raised through her committee efforts to be directly allocated to a program of her choice. By saying yes to this request are we setting a precedent for other committee chairs to direct their fundraising efforts? Being a 501c3 organization are we within our legal boundaries to do this? Our bylaws do not address this issue specifically but perhaps we should consider revising them to address this in the future? Need some experienced advice on this one, please.
