We too have "teacher allotment" set aside in our budget for the teachers to use. However we were told today at a meeting with the principal and asst. sup of our district that there has to be some "discretion" on what the teachers can use it for. In essence they want to control it so that if there is something that Central Admin or the Principal says "NO" to the teachers can't come to the PTO and get reimbursement for.
We do have forms for them to fill out and attach receipts to, however I think we have now lost control of how we allow our teachers to spend their PTO allotments. It has worked thus far, but now due to disagreements with the principal it may no longer work as we had 'always done'.
To save your group some trouble, might I suggest teachers making a "Wish List" of items they may want for their classrooms so you can get a better idea and base your allotments or reimbursements on.

We are a school of about 515 students, k-5, including special needs classes. We want to pass some of our funding along to the teachers, to chum them if you will, to be more supportive of us - and to do what we are here to do - supplement what our school system doesn't provide.
What I am looking for is a application (?) that the teachers complete and return to us requesting funding for specific things.
How do you decide who gets what? Do you fund projects as they come up or do you fund them quarterly?
