The question you are asking is something you perhaps should consider asking your general members (the parents).
For us the largest portion of our budget funds the classrooms (educational items) and any large goals set such as new playground equipment etc. which is right in line with dlf above and I beleive it would be safe to say a majority of schools.

Hey Deb-I just compiled a list of where our money has gone.
Cultural Programs - About 2700
Supplies (for the school) - 8500 (Big things like thesaursus, art carts, cameras etc)
Spirit/Morale - 4200 (Ice Cream Socials, Appreciation, Free family events, Field Day)
Structural Enhancements - 13,000 (that was the creation of our outdoor classroom).
I can break down more if you'd like but the total since last September has been about 32,000 buck a roos....dlf
I know that this is a broad question, but how do you use your PTO money? I am just curious to see how other PTO's spend their money....is it more on the kids - on the teachers/school...combination of both..we have our budget that we pretty much adopted from the previous officers, but now I feel that more should be used for school resources as well as fun things for the students.
