I agree with the other posts. I would approach your Treasurer, possessive or not, and TELL her that for HER protection, she MUST have a system of checks n balances in place. I would INSIST that a person of YOUR CHOICE ( not theirs) OTHER than one of the 2 treasurers be present to sign off on those deposits..
That " possessive " behavior is how organizations end up with Treasurers who embezzle.. $100 here and there.. can add up. how will YOU ever know if the 2 of them skimmed some cash from the pile??
I think there should be a double check system at any time, you are talking ALOT of money for one person to have control of...I repeat ALOT of money. There should have been two or three people involved on the counting and depositing of this money. I can't even imagine having that much group money and wanting to be responsible for it by myself.

I would like to know how do you handle fundraising monies? My treasurers handled over $50,000 in 2 weeks and were extremely overwhelmed but wouldn't let me, the president, help in anyway. I offered to help count and take deposits but my head treasurer was almost on the possessive side. She wouldn't even let the co-treasurer make deposits. I think it shouldn't have been the same person counting and depositing all that money. I believe that in the best interest of our organization we should have signed off on the deposits and double checked each other. What is your view?
