Thanks for your answer. I'm just getting ready to fax this in to the school now. Just in case it might helps someone else, here it is:
Parent Teacher Organization Board Election
Position desired: PTO President
Name: Jennia
"Why do you want to be President of the PTO?
I have a deeply-seated belief that all of our children need a quality education and because of this, I would like to see our parents and community become more involved with our _____ students. As PTO President my main focus would be to increase parental and community involvement at _______ Middle School.
I believe that the parents of VCMS are a vital resource. As a PTO president I will welcome new members and work with all parents to promote the well being of our children. My vision is to support our children with an emphasis on fun and enriching activities for our students and their families.
What are your qualifications?
For over 10 years I worked for the Federal Government in medical administration. From this job I gained administrative and people skills. Since that time I founded the Scrapbooking.com website as well as several other commercial and hobby websites. My communications skills as a result of my work in public relations and marketing make me a strong candidate for President of the PTO.
Since the time my son started Kindergarten in 1999, I have served on the School Site Council for 2 years, volunteered hundreds of hours in the classroom and currently I serve on both the Apple Valley Parent Advisory Committee and Apple Valley’s GATE Parent Committee representing Vista Campana Middle School.
I have held the position of founding Vice President of the VCMS PTO as an interim officer for the last year. In this position I launched and maintained a website for the _____ PTO located at http://_______.com/. I have also participated in applying for grants and other fundraising activities on behalf of the VCMS PTO. Parent involvement and teacher appreciation have been two other areas where I have focused my attention during the last year as interim Vice President.
I have answered these questions honestly and to the best of my ability."
Keep your fingers crossed!
