We have a RFS form that teachers fill out. It is then sent for signature of the principal...she determines if it is academic in nature and something that she thinks deserves our consideration. The request then comes to the PTO board and we vote whether or not to fund. If it were a determination of really not funding one thing to fund another (something we haven't had to face given positive fundraising) we would need to vet the decisions with the general PTOs at meetings. We're not there yet since our requests have been small.
The prinicpal vetting however, is a very positive impact....

Can you please tell me how teacher requests are handled and who makes the ultimate decision as to whether or not it gets approved. What do you do for small dollar amounts (say under $200), versus big dollar amounts ($500). Our current president thinks that it should be the executive board who makes the decisions at an executive meeting. The executive board will then inform the rest of us, the general committee, as to their decision. This does not seem right to me.
