It may seem like they are out to change everything you have worked for but you need to give them a chance to try things, update things, bring some new excitement. Yes there is the saying "if it aint broke don't fix it" but there is also the saying "we always did it this way". I know I would feel the same way you do but also know that new people bring new ideas and hopefully along the way they include others in on decision making and it doesnt become a cliche. That the communication lines open up school wide and they look at what others want as well.
As far as working already on next year I also have sat down with the principal to lay out next year's schedule...it always seems so early to do it but I know it makes things alot easier all the way around for us. Give them a chance and remember why you do it...hang in there!

I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem.
I served on the PTO as a board member for many years and have decided to step down. The majority of the old board is doing the same.
Here is my issue: I was very excited to have new blood come in. I was supportive of having new ideas and new ways of doing things. However, the new board is already in full swing for next year(school isn't even out yet!). Am I crazy to be a little offended that they seem to be crashing in and changing SO MUCH of what we set up over the past 3 years???? I am a little hurt by this. It's just way too soon and way too fast! I think it is VERY insensitive of them.
I know that working on a PTO is for the kids and not the adults...but having put so much blood, sweat and tears into something for so long, do I have a right to be offended? Anyone else have this problem?
