She is right! Parents are very powerful if they advocate themselves correctly. PTO
*Parent
*Teacher
*Organization.
Not Pricipal funds.

What a nightmare. I sounds like maybe you need to have a meeting with the pTO parents only, and figure out how to address this.

He will learn who has the real power here. It lies in the numbers, not the title.

it has been a long time since I have been to the web sight but you guys really helped me get our PTO together 3 yrs ago and I really do appreciate all of your help - Thanks!! Anyway when our school first started our PTO we had nothing, thanks to all of you here we put together bylaws, budgets, etc... and our money is all deposited into the municipal school account so the principal has complete control over the money we earn, we learned how to deal with that because we had a great principal - last year I was pres but quit because we got a new principal who is an absolute tyrant!! (and family issues galore!). The book we put together of paperwork, bylaws, budgets, etc.. has been taken and no where to be found (we suspect the principal is involved). The principal seems to trying to push everyone out of PTO unless all things are done his way. And we have all been reminded that the money is in his account and only he can approve access to it. I don't have it in me any more to fight the battle but would like to do things for the kids and volunteer - no money issues!!! I don't get paid for this BS. has anyone ever heard of a group of parents that just do volunteer work and don't do fundraising?
