Are you needing info as to how to run the group or events? Everyone runs their group according to their needs. Make an agenda with your copres and go from there. If it is events, purchasing or other such decisions, make time to sit down with the past pres and go over these things and make sure you have the specifics. When I took over, I was left with a whole bunch of nothing and disorganized receipts to try to figure out what to do. It always takes time and some searching when you don't have a system in place. I'm sure your group understands that there is a learning curve but is probably wondering why the past pres hasn't given you whatever info she is offering before you are in the middle of a meeting. Just hang in there and work out a plan.

My friend and I our the new co-pres.of our PTO. We took over last jan. and this is our first full year. Here is the problem, our old pres did not give us very good insructions on what to do, she is now the vice pres. and kind of takes over. My friend and i feel other members look at us like we are idiots because we don't know what to do, we need help. Their is no real leadership and we need to take control, are there any guidelines on how to run the pto? our old pres gave me a bag of useless info, i am feeling lost and overwhelmed. HELP
