What a great idea, Kelley!!! Now do you have any idea how to get rid of that one person who shoots down every idea you come up with because, "It hasn't been done that way in the past"?

We have our first meeting tonight, and I already know of 2 new people who are ready to take on some responsibility. WOO HOO!! We have changed our meeting night to Thursday this year and are hoping that this will be a better night for more parents.

Congratulations!

We kept our numbers growing last year by sending out a "challenge" to parents last year... A week before the next meeting, we would send the attendees of the previous meeting a note challenging them to find one new parent to bring to the upcoming meeting. If they did so, they got an extra ticket in the door prize drawing. Of course, not everyone did it... but it did help a little.

Good luck with whatever you do!!!

was GREAT! About 30 parents plus about 8 teachers attended! OK, so maybe not great by some standards, but for us it was wonderful! I hope that the attendance doesn't go down, but I know that it will. I just keep telling myself, well, people lead busy lives, as long as they are available for volunteer positions, that's all that matters.

We had a long agenda, but we still kept it to 1 hour. I really think that first time parents left with questions (that they thought of later), unanswered, but I told them to call the school and we (the board) would answer any questions, concerns, etc. that they could think of later.

Over all it went great, so hopefully we'll be able to rope in new blood soon.
