Our dues are $1.00 and almost all the teachers and other staff including principal join the PTO. Alot of them don't come to meetings when they're in the evening but they do help out at many of the events. Our teachers are very involved with the PTO and we help them out with expenses and teacher appreciation and such.

Teachers are not required to pay, though some do. I personally invite the teachers to attend meetings. We have a teacher grant program and plan teacher appreciation throughout the year, so they feel compelled to attend since we do what we do for them.
Our district has a Educational association that all the teachers belong to. The Association pays us $5 membership dues for every teacher and the principal also gives us $5. We have 2 teachers that serve as Reps. to the PTO. One of them always attends a meeting.
We are a k-5 school and never in the past has a teacher "signed up" for PTO. Although our membership dues of $5.00 per family is not mandatory, they do help fund PTOs needs. We hope to present it to teachers in a way that encourages them to become more involved but I'm afraid they'll only be insulted.
Everybody pays membership dues at our school.
Last year, we got 100% of all classroom teachers as well as good portion of related arts teachers. Yes, our principal pays dues as do all the executive board members.
Our dues are $10 per family. We are a K-4 school with approx. 465 students.
