We make "welcome back signs" get balloons and greet the kids as they come in...also have a treat of some sort waiting for the teachers (this year it is heart lollipops with a little teachers poem)... We also provide teachers with lunch on orientation day....d
Our teachers go back a few days before the kids and we have a teachers breakfast ready for them that day, just muffins and juice, coffee, etc. On the first day after the kids are settled we invite the parents to the PTO room for cookies and coffee just to meet the board and visit for a half hour or so.
I am doing the boohoo yahoo event for kindergaren
parents and the teachers room will be filled with muffins, bagels and danish and flavored coffee. Plus, all the teachers get a gift bag on their desks filled with school supplies and their first 50.00 allotment check. That should do it until our first open house late 'sept.
what we do the first day is serve coffee and donuts to parents dropping off their kids or kindergarten parents. we do it outside (weather permitting ) so we don't really cause any problems! We also do a skit at K orientation! I would love to do more but there is so much going on!
