Thanks guys, I'm trying to keep upbeat about this. This is my second year as really being involved with the PTO. I just don't want anyone to think that I'm full of hot air.

Kelly, I can just see myself doing exactly what you did. You have to either laugh or cry and laughing feels so much better!

Don't get down on yourself. We are only one person and I know we DO PULL MORE THEN OUR FAIR SHARE ALL YEAR. Hey for a laugh because I had too. I did a PTO Brochure had it all typed proofed and all ready to copy just then my printer quit, could not find anyone at home that I could email it too so they could print out. My hubby knew it upset me for all the time I put into it. He went to WalMart at 2:30 am and bought me new one. SO exicted when he got home I went to copy off my Brochure that I hit a delete but and DID NOT relize. So I passed them out at school the next day with our "Upcoming Events" 17, 05. Can't wait to see you there.

OMG I thought I would pass out because it was only after 4 hrs of passing these out did a friend call me on my way home from the school and said so what is the upcoming event on the 17 of 05. So I am laughing at myself now crying then but laughing now.

Sorry it didn't go as well as you wanted... I am finding it so difficult dealing with the same issues... We are having Open House the night before school starts.. UGH... but I have packets made up and hoping to get response... We have a very small school that had to consolidtae last year and I am hoping that the new parents we have this year ( from the bigger school.. long story...) will help us out more..
Good luck to you...

I believe you can do it. I set up an info table at our Open House and Back to School Bash. I had a lot of packets left over and I can't figure out why. So Wednesday night I was up until 11:00 stapling packets so they could be sent home by Friday. I haven't had anyone sign up for our volunteer program which has been taken over by the FRC and Circ. Coorid. this week. Surprise! I had no idea they were going to do that. Had I known that it would have saved me alot of work this summer. Oh well.

We did PTO membership at the open house too and I got about 6 members. I am expecting less than 30. So I thought that was pretty good. Also ran out of drinks from the RC fountian on the second night. Bummer. I was about to freak out. No complaints though.

I had planned to have PTO information, school sprit items, local non-profit agency info, etc. at a table or two for school orientation. Well, my best laid plans fell through. With everything I've had going on this summer, people not responding to my requests for information, having to take an unscheduled week and half off of work, being sick two days this week, I couldn't pull it off. Oh, plus no one was available to man the tables.

I feel really bad about letting down the principal, even though he said not to worry about it. The PTO info will be going home with the students next week anyway, so at least the info will get into the hands of the parents.

So now I'm planning on having the info. available at open house. Sure hope that I can pull it off to save face!
