hey thats an awesome idea on having the newsletter translated into another language.

Can't wait to see it! When our school had a PTA, I used to do the newsletter, but we had to pay to have it printed at Kinko's--it was getting expensive. Not to mention we had to have it translated into Spanish. The school allows the PTO to run articles, announcements, etc. in the school newsletter, and it's been great!

It hepls so much! I never tought of that idea but it is one that is most important. These parents need to know who I am and what my intention are for 05'. So, I will start on this project first.
Thank you for the encouragement! </font>[/QUOTE]While we're on the newsletter subject, it may not be a bad idea to ask your principal if you can have a "PTO Corner" every issue. Let parents know how much you made on your fundraisers and what you plan to do with the money. Take this opportunity to publicize your meeting dates, times and locations.
There are a LOT of businesses that will offer a family night where the school gets a % of proceeds
restaurants (fast food, sit-down places, ice cream shops, pizza delivery...), skating rinks,
movie theatres, miniature golf, etc.
Naturally, they will want to designate a slow sales night since their point is to beef up business.
Our PTOs/Schools arrange these periodically. My neighborhood has a set program of "Give Back Wednesday". One restaurant is the 1st Wednesday, another is 2nd Wednesday, etc. on an ongoing basis. They give 10% of their night's proceeds to be split between our community library, swim team, and soccer association. So for each restaurant, it's once per month. For residents, we can just plan to eat out on Wednesday and benefit the community!
