Are PTL moved are wonderful fall fest from Holloween to Sept 10th, because some of them got cold last year. What are we suppose to do? Paint late season tomatoes instead of pumpkins? We should have moved it to mid January to freeze them out.

Ok, here's the deal. They changed the date because some of the teachers are going to be out of town(changing the date for 3 people makes no sense to me). I was not consulted because when we decided who would be on the comittee at the last pto meeting of last year, the person who takes notes at the meeting didn't write her or my name down because it was a given to us that we would help. Apparently, I new pto pres did not relieze this and never thought to call us. They have all apologized and I don't know weather they are sincere or not but I have decided that I am not going to go nuts about this. I talked to the pricipal and she said to go ahead with the haunted house anyway. I have been wanting to do a dance hall so maybe this is just the time to do it. I called the person I got the dinner tixs from and they have dinners every month and it won't be a problem for her to change the date( the lady is great) As for cutting the prize budget, did come up with a way to cut the cost by not doing the nails and tattoo boothes. I am not going down and I told them if anything like this happened again, I was not going to participate and will dump the whole she-bang in their laps. Let's see them figure it out from there. And I won't pick-up any more donations or give them a list. I think they see it my way now.
Tell them to go ahead and have their November Fall Festival, but you are having one at the original date since it already organized and such. I am sure you could get some donations to fund it.
Why did they change the date? And whats the point of having a Halloween themed festival if its 2 weeks after Halloween??? If they don't have a valid reason for the date change (being some other school function is going on that date) then tell em to shove it. Ok really I think, esp you being a 'committee member' you should have been consulted about the date change and included in the thought process. Why did they cut the budget too? You need to go open a can of whop...
