Do an Ice Cream basket with different cones and toppings and maybe some inexpensive ice cream bowls (Walmart has the sundae type for 1.50 each. It's fun and pretty inexpensive.
I need help!!! My son is in kindergarten and Im classroom mom. I need to make/design a "spring" themed basket with very little money. I want it to be cute (obviously) but also inexpensive. Any ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated as Im not very creative... Please let me know your ideas. Thanks!
We do the same thing at our church's fall festival (we are a Catholic school). Each class is required to contribute a basket to the silent auction. Each room parent comes up with a theme (or sometimes 2 or 3) and coordinates with their class families to get donations. Some people just give money, in which case the room parent then does the shopping themselves for any items needed to fill in the basket. Also, sometimes one theme becomes more than 1 basket because so many items are donated.
At the festival, there are lots of those same families bidding on the baskets and checking to see what the highest bid is for their grade's basket. The silent auction is always the biggest moneymaker at the festival.
Dawn... that's the fun of it-- now they can buy tickets to win this great basket that they put a small part of into it... or they might find another basket they would like to try and win--
These baskets are made of many items-- not just their 1-3 items that they sent in... promoting the baskets and showing them made before the event in the library or a showcase help advertise what's in the basket to win.
Also...where are you getting the basket donations from? I could see each class doing one - but if you have parents giving to the class basket then do they buy tickets too? I could see some at our school saying they already "gave" by helping create the basket?
