These baskets sound very cool and the jumpstart of teacher/class involvement I'd like to get going next year. We are having a spring carnival...usually we do a raffle & sell tickets. Would you recommend the baskets for a raffle or only an auction?
If doing an auction (silent) at the carnival how would you go about starting this - the set up / prep work. Any & all ideas would be great!
WE have had several WEBKINZ baskets--huge hit with the kids-- The webkinz-- clothes, book marks, charms-- the kids went crazy for this one....
We also had a pot of gold basket-- lucky strike-- instant ticket lottery basket---

Mexican delight-- Rice, tortillas, salsa, chips, tortilla warmer---
A Night on the town-- restaurant certificate, 2 movie passes, 2 museum passes, misc. items as well
A Day at the Beach--

Camera Fun--
Sports Basket and themed basket to go with our 3 Sports teams-- Pistons, Red Wings, Tigers-- Big hit when we added 2 passes to a game in each one...
Game Night--
Hope these help out!
Thank you so much for all of the ideas, I get tired of the same old things. This year I did an gardening basket. I put all of the things that were donated in a wheel Barrel. It was full of things that you would use to work in flower beds or repot plants - i.e. potting soil, hand tools, rake, hoe, Garden hose, numerous flower seeds, Misc. Decorative pots, Gift certificate to a local greenhouse and nursery and gloves just to name a few things that went in it. I have 26 students and they were excited to help "Create" the finished Project.
Another Teacher is going to do a John Deer basket
The PE Teacher is doing all kinds of PE eqipmnt for kids. Orange cones, jump rope, kick ball, small dodge ball, hoola hoop, gift certificate to a local sporting goods store, Gift Certificate to a local athletic shoe store, and some other small equipment.

My PTO has used many of the baskets listed in previous posts, didn't see gardening listed, that is one of our most popular baskets (with a wheelbarrow as the "basket"). Last year we added baskets for "Iowa" and "Iowa St", filling them with sports fan related items. They were HUGE hits, with the Iowa and Iowa St fans competing to have the best basket. I think this would be popular too if you were in a state with a professional team, such as Chicago Bears. We auction our baskets, the Iowa basket was our top basket at $220 for just that basket.
