Thanks for your responses. How big are your schools & what is a normal amount when you do a redemption? Like I said, we are a small school & I think we do ok, but I think we could do better. So you send a lot of stuff home reminding parents?

I have been box top coordinator for the elementary and middle school for the last 2 years. I gave all the teachers a large envelope for their rooms and every week I email them that I will be in on such and such day to collect them --so all the teachers bring their envelopes or baggies in to the Box tops bin in the office(which is right by their mailboxes and since they have to check their mail it works out nicely).
Last year we did the classroom who brought in the most box tops each nine weeks gets a reward( icecream bars, extra recess, games for their classroom--$25 roughly) It seemed that the same class rooms were the winners every nine weeks so this year we are having a school reward--which will be a movie, popcorn and juice boxes--one time in December and another before the end of the year--price wise it works out to be about the same costs for us as offering class rewards--and this way everyone gets rewarded--not just the same classroom.
At the middle school they use their money for the end of the year dances and last day of school activities.
After the October deadline I will be using for the first time the collection sheets--from what I hear they are very likeable by the students and oh so easy to count out for the coordinator.
Please feel free to email me anytime to get help or just to share ideas.

We hold 3 contests a year. 2 of the contest are placed around the 2 yearly deadlines with BoxTops and the 3rd is at the end of the year before school gets out. The class that has the most points each contest gets a $25.00 check to have a party (they choose what type of party).

Since we started doing contests we have raised our amount turned in by 1/2. Each class has a laminated manilla envelope to collect them in, then we go around and just collect the envelopes at the end of the contest and return them to the teachers after the counts are done. They are not bulky for the classrooms and can be hung out of the way on a filing cabinet or on a wall.

As I'm sure everyone that does Box Tops knows, the deadline to have your bt's in & recieve a check in December is fast approaching. (Oct.31)

I am not the coordinator for our school, but I did do some collecting around school & cutting last night. I'm just wondering, how do you do your Box Tops? Do you run a contest? Do you have a bin in each classroom or 1 central bin? Do you have a good response? Do you also do Box Tops Marketplace. Any tips from seasoned veterans for us newbies?

We have a box in each classroom for our Box Tops. We, oh course, get everything in these boxes, from actual Box Tops to LFE Labels to garbage. We do a contest-the classroom that collects the most over the year wins some sort of prize. (Don't remember, think it is a Pizza Party). We are a small school-175 students PK-8, and I think we have a pretty good response from parents. We emptied the classroom boxes last week. I did them again last night & since last week in Pre-K alone (16 students) there was almost 200. We have been signed up for the marketplace, but have not really "promoted" it until this year.

My tip after my first cutting session? Sharp scissors.
