Restaurant Night Ideas Needed

We did a cold stone creamery fundraiser in the fall that was a success. Something different and we did from 5-8 with the teachers serving. I have been to fundraisers for chic-fil-a this is successful as well. Parents can participate but can always take the food home and be with their families as well as support the school.

I agree with poster Melanie, in that doing them once a month may just simply be too much for people no matter what your offering them. Raffles, homework passes, & contests are all great ideas but in the end you may just be better off doing them every other month or just a couple of them during the year.

We only do a Pizzeria Uno's fundraiser once a year so it is the only one I am familiar with (we did a Chuck E Cheese one once and had a massive turn out, but Chuck E Cheese was unprepared, they ran out of pizza 1/2 hour into the evening and it was a disaster so we will never do one with them again). Back to Uno's...the thing I like about them is you get two days to have your fundraiser for both lunch and dinner. So this gives folks 2 days to possibly go if one day is no good. The other thing we found out works really well is holding it when one of the two days is a 1/2 day.
All the mom's here took the kids there for lunch instead of going to Burger King or McDonalds which is the norm here on 1/2 days. They kids loved it because they can make their own pizzas.

One other suggestion is possibly working with a local pizza joint. We have a school here that does this for 2 days and they get a percentage back for all the food ordered from parents on those 2 days. Maybe some folks might like to just order a pizza to eat at home instead of going out to dinner.

Why not offer a free homework pass to those that attend? Of course, you have to ok it with the principal first.

We have done raffles for gift certificates to toy stores, etc.

A lot of places may offer certificates if you do a school night with them you can raffle!

We used to do them every other month, every month seems like it may be too much!

We're starting a contest to see which classroom can have the most people attend. They will get some kind of treat and recognition. We're also setting a dollar amount goal.

Our school has been doing restaurant nights every month for the past couple years. We have it at a different restaurant every month (generally the second Tuesday of the month). The participation of our families is down. Any suggestions??
