We do Sandy Candy but put it in plastic testtube/shot tubes like at the bar -- they can be bought in bulk and are way cheaper (than the straws)at most restaurant/bar supply stores

Sandy Candy is the sand-like candy and pebble candy that the kids layer in straws. We are going to set this up at our Fall Festival this year. A 12-inch straw sells for $2.00 and we keep $1.00 of that. We learned about this at the PTO Today Conference.
At another conference I went to this year I got some samples of Smencils. They are pencils made from recycled newspapers and then dipped in different scents. They come individually packaged in a straw-like container. They sell for $1.00 and we would keep .50.
We are also going to do greeting cards with World Wise Education. They take the students' artwork and make greeting cards out of them.
Does anone have experience with any of these fundraisers?? How did it go for you? I'll keep you posted on how we do!
