A central place I don't agree with because people will just go there to obtain their information rather than say "me too". Then, before you know it, these companies are being flooded with 10,000 requests rather than 1000. I'm not that sure about volunteering e-mail addresses either because, if I signed on to read my e-mail, and I had 100 requests to send the donor list - I'd be hopping mad! However, I do think people need guidance because I actually got my start on the message board. My suggestion might be to post a centralized location about donations. Then, state "sports teams in your area, museums, zoos, restaurants" to make it a generalized statement. Then, I think people can deduce from there who they need to write.
I agree with Luv. At the very least, the person with the ideas can post their email address so people can directly contact them for the information. Especially if it is something that needs some explaination or that the person is constantly updating/adding to.
The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
I think the best way to stop it or at least slow it down is for everyone who has these amazing lists, forms, letters, and such and is willing to share to just post them right in the message or into the new category of frequently requested items.
I know Tim, that you also have a section in the site where people can get some of the forms and other items.
So, I'm looking at the message boards daily and I'm sick and tired of these people that say "me too" and don't want to do any legwork on their own? Does anyone agree with me?
