Regarding your Market Day question, what type of expenses does your chairperson have. We have been doing market day for years and we have no expenses, Market day supplies everything but the volunteers and the space.
For anyone doing Market Day....How do you record the "profit" in your accounting records? (We use Quicken.)
Every month the chair for our school has about $20-50 of "expenses" that she gets deducted from her food bill on the Market Day statement. Prior Treasurers have recorded our profit net of the chair's expenses, and have never asked her for receipts.
Do you record the total profit from Market Day, and then record expenses in your financial statements, or is it OK to only enter the net profit and not report the expenses? (I personally don't think this is correct, but it's how we've been doing it.)
I asked for a detail of the past month's expenses, and got some push back from her "It's the way we've done it for years.....". (We also haven't had an audit in years - something I'm trying to change as well and getting a lot of push back from the prior Board about....)
Schwann's bought out Tony's Pizza a few years back. They changed a lot of the store stuff and got rid of their demo program. So anything Tony's or Red Baron is now part of Schwann's.
The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
Shwans make Freshetta and Safeways brand (Vons) Pizza but the store brand is N-A-S-T-Y (Packaging is almos the same got by accident)

I just got the final numbers for this month's sale. We made 15% with a profit of $700.00! That is only for one month and we do this for nine months out of the school year. This is our highest profit for the month of September in the last six years. I am so excited!
