Hi my name is trenna and I,m a new pto co-president and I'm looking for some new ideas for a fundraiser at my son's school. Please help me! Since it's close to the holidays, something along that line would be great.
At our Fall Fun Night we sold hot dogs, pizza, had a bake sale, we sold cans of soda, our Athletic Association donated their popcorn machine and one of the parents owned a cotton candy/sno cone machine so we had those also. Ask around and see if anyone will donate food or soda's to help you get a profit.
We sale pizza, nachos, popcorn, pop, and cakes at our Fall Fest. Works well and most pizza chains are willing to give discounted prices. We've made anywhere from 600.00 to 800.00 on food alone.
We do an annual chili supper. We contract with Runza, a local fast food chain (Wendy's
does it also.) For a very reasonable cost ($2
gross per head) we get everything including dessert provided. They serve and clean up.
We do chili, chicken soup, and a vegetarian soup. We send home pre-sale envelopes and charge $2.50 per student and $3.50 per adult.
We make a small profit with little work. We also work with our school counselor to make sure that any families who may not be able to afford to attend have the opportunity. We
sponsor approx. 10 families each year.
It has been very popular! Good luck!
Subway Sandwiches work well also. You can get the 3 foot party subs and slice them. Chips and drinks round it out.
We did that with our local McDonald's, We received 10-20% of the total sales between the hours of 4-7. We sent fliers home with the kids saying when and what time, our principle even dressed up and passed out balloons, I can't say exactly what we raised, ( I don't know) but I sure it was at least a few hundred. But the important thing, the kids had fun!
How about a community partnership with a local fast food company ? Perhaps you could talk to the rep and ask them to sell the food and the school could receive a percentage of the profits from the event.
