looking for the best fundraising program

I'm always looking for fundraisers that are things parents etc are going to buy anyway or places they would eat...keeping it simple!

Also look into Enjoy The City Books in your area. All the major chain restaurants and even local will be in it if you're in their coverage area. There are A LOT of buy one get one coupons for entrees at Chili's, TGI Friday's, Applebee's, etc. And the school keeps 75% of the profits.

First of all, I'm like a crazy Schwan's customer. I've ebnn shopping from Schwan's every two weeks for the past 6 years. So, my driver told me about the Fundraising program.

Trust me, it's very easy. The first time around,we did a Morning Munchies for the parents and baked 2 boxes of cookie dough and 5 pizzas and that's when they got addicted. Now, they are just addicted and so few continue with the delivery service between fundraisers. Which means, the parents who know andlove Schwan's stick up during the fundraiser!

Here's the link to their web site. Check out program overview. If you want to just try something for yourself, go to the regular Schwan's Home Delivery and order a box of cookie dough. Bake them and fall in love.. Ha Ha..

The other very popular one is Schwan's Home Delivery Fundraising. They have four different catalogues, everything is top quality and the best part is that there's no delivery by the kids and parents! Schwans' delivers everything to the customer's door at no additional cost. The school only makes 30%, but in the end we actually make more off this fundraiser than any other becuase it is so popular. They also have web ordering, and that's even more convenient!

I'd love to see your documentation for the Booster Club, prez.

I'm starting up a program this year that will absorb Adopt-A-Class and just make all the monies coming and going from personal and private donatiions a lot "cleaner" and with ample recognition everyone.

Being able to see someone else's structure would be a HUGE help!

We don't have any fundraisers at all, and last year we raised $52,000! A record for our organization, which stopped selling stuff two years ago.

We call ourselves a PTO Booster Club. We sell memberships. Parents can donate at various levels, starting with $75 for the year. We have a $75 level, a $125 level, and then levels of $400+ and $1500+. The latter two are usually corporate sponsorships...i.e. parents with their own businesses who have children in our schools. Last year we enjoyed a 55% participation rate among our families. Our organization encompasses two elementaries, with a total of about 600 families.

Quite honestly, parents were THRILLED to be relieved of having to sell stuff! And 100% of their donated money goes to the schools, as we keep our overhead to an absolute minimum. I think 95% of our money went back into the schools.

I do three or four fundraisers each year in an effort to diversify and so that we get all families participating in at least one. There are two programs though that the parents literally ask for during Back2School Night.

One is Enjoy The City book. It's a lot like the Entertainment Book but less costly. I think this year the purchase price of the book is $15 and the PTO keeps $10. Not abad return. The coupons inside are awesome and include National Chains as well as local. You should be able to Google it and find a fundraising company that does them in your area. Make sure you don't have to pre-purchase books and then sell them. Now that gets costly.

This year, I'm adding Scott's of Wisconsin's Tip Top Holiday Catalogue to our mix. They also do internet orders and those get delivered directly to the customer's door. Also, we keep 50% of the profits. The catalogues has everything from wrapping paper to gifts, chocolates, magazines, cheeses and even sausage. It's like an all in one!

Scholastic Book Fairs are also a good fundraiser that can pay you in kind with books.

Chuck E Cheese FUndraising Nights are our most well attended events of the year. The return is only 15% but our parents like it. It's one of the only events that pays us instead of us paying and an extra $100 to $200 isn't so bad. We do two each year, one before Christmas and one after.

Always remember that you can spice things up in the fundraising by coordinating with teachers to do a school play and charging admission. You can have a Dance-A-Thon and school dance in one. Any event is a possible fundraising event!
