Thank you so much for the advice. We did cut the budget this year from 27K to 20K based on the fundraisers over the past four years. I just don't know what happened. I'll have to convince the Principal. Thanks.
I'd tend to agree with the board plan for the cookie dough. Can your principal be convinced?
Last year we had our major fundraiser come in WAAAAY under projection. We were lucky because we had a successful year previously so we had some cushion left. We did however, sit down and seriously look at our budget to see what could be cut if needed. We were really straight with our parents and teachers in our communications following the fundraiser so they would know what could potentially happen.
Ooh, ooh, I need help!!! Our fundraiser only raised $2,000.00 instead of $15,000.00. What do we do?
We sent a parent survey home this year to choose the top two fall fundraisers. Then, after the survey tally came back we had the parents vote on which fundraiser to do, candles or Earth Tones (clothing, candles, maganizes). The parents chose Earth Tones. Well, 630 fundraising packets went out but only 1/3 came back. Our budget is $20,000.00. What do we do? Our Prinicpal said not to worry but also not to send home another fundraiser. The Board wants to send home cookie dough in two weeks for it to come back before Christmas along with a pity letter explaining the situation. I need your help. Any good advice?
