My daughter has gone on several trips with her orchestra and one of the best fundraisers they did was a garage sale. Items were solicited from neighbors and family members, not just the students' parents, so they had a lot to sell. Another popular fundraiser in our area is the frozen cookie dough, especially in the fall. I have found that working people especially appreciate the convenience and you can make a pretty good profit on it.
Good luck.

Dancing Student, it would be helpful to know how many $$ a third of the cost represents and some idea of what fundraisers already exist at your school. In our area, the clinic by the cheerleaders has been a big contributor to their travels. Rather than a walk-a-thon, I'd suggest a dance-a-thon. Stick with your theme. Good luck!
I just saw a post on the PTA discussion board and I thought of you. This gal talked about a fashion show fundraiser. I do not know how many are in your dance group but it may work out for you. They had local stores donate the clothes for the day and had raffle prizes donated. It sounded like alot of fun! The gal Carol is very excited to give all the info if you are interested. When are you going anyway?
congratulations. Last year we did a walk-a-thon and raised over $6,ooo. It take some work but it was a big success. The kids loved participating and we also gave away prizes that we got donated. We even ended up having it in the gym because of rain. Good luck
Congratulations!! What an honor for you.
Have you considered doing t-shirt sales? You could come up with a design and sell the embroidered shirts for a profit. E-mail me for more information if interested.
