I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic and to encourage people in PTO's and PTA's to act like you're running a business when deciding on how you can make money for your school. Many people just go in and do whatever sounds good at the time, not bothering to check out all of the options first.
Our Innsbrook fundraiser has been successful because the parents, teachers and our principal gets involved. We make it fun for everyone, NOT just selling. I don't know what type of community you live in, so I cant address what type of event or sale would work well for you.
If you don't have lots of people on board, and willing to help promote whatever it is your doing (selling trash bags, catalog sale, jog a thon, whatever), you are destined for failure.
This is great! we all get to view our results on S.F.
What I would like to know is with all of the downs on this subject, how did the 1 school get it to be successful-there were no details only emotion.
Let's stay on a postive note, we are here to HELP EACH OTHER.
Our school is in a low income area, I was wondering if Innsbrook was in the same and if so how did you get it to work???????
The SF gift cards are a BUST. we had our doubts when the program was explained to us. but we tried it anyway. Our sales rep NEVER told us about the shipping costs.
We run the Entertainment Coupon Book, Sally Foster Wrapping Paper, and Cookie Dough fundraisers every year. We are dropping all three fext year and using other vendors.
I agree! A complete bust! Shipping cost are too high the and the selection of holiday gift wrap is minimal at best. Even the holiday decor is laughable! Sally Foster needs to go back to the way they were doing it before before they lose all their customers.
We find the same issues. Selling products that people do not want or need is difficult with today’s economic issues. You might also look into selling fresh fruit. The products are healthy and something we find our supporters need, want, and are willing to pay for. There many companies that offer these products. One we know of is California Fresh Fundraisers.
