You have some great ideas! Can you tell me more about the carnival game rentals? Do you have the names of any of the companies? We are trying to do alot of the same things that you mentioned. We are trying to get donations from various places without asking parents. Thanks for your help.

What type of spring festival are you wanting to put on.
Get donations... "a must" if you are trying to make money.
A fair works well-- we put on a spring fair on with games ad prizes, food plus raffles.
We work with a local company that comes in and provides the food-- we get a price list from them and then mark it up a little.... we sell the items during event, then pay the company after the event is over, so money up front-- great for a new pto.... as we do a Chinese raffle with gift baskets that we put together off of donations from parents. We put out a list of basket themes, 1-2 for each grade ad ask for donations of new items-- then we put the baskets together and sell tickets for 1.00 each-- this has turned into a great event ad money maker.
We also sell tickets for carnival games--- 4 tickets for $1.00-- and each games cost about 2-3 tickets per game.... as the kids play they get winning tickets and turn in those in for a prize or prizes in our prize room-- there are several companies out there that when you rent so many carnival games they will give you so many prizes and vice-versa. When you buy so many prizes they give you so many games to play-- you can also make your own--
We sell helium filled balloons-- we have our own helium tank-- so cost is inexpensive-- $1.00 per balloon... this ends up being a fun night, but a good money maker-- about 5,000.00... let me know if you need anything

Hi, I am secretary of a small school of about 307. We have an all new PTO group and so we are just learning the ropes. We are planning a spring festival fundraiser for May and I would appreciate any suggestions that I can get. Right now I am feeling very overwhelmed! Thanks.
