Ours were even cheaper! We presold tickets at 5/$1.00 then sold them at the door for 4/$1.00. Keep in mind that we are just 1 out of 10!! elementary schools in our district (lots of competition for fundraising $$). We are K-5, 270 students and we have about 70% participation in the free & reduced lunch program.
That being said we had over 200 baskets and our evening on the whole (combined with silent auction and carnival) netted almost $5,000!

LOL That's not a great deal... but I get what you were saying. How about 6 for $5?
To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
I was just going over the gift basket raffle with our chairperson. She said in her experience they have made more money on $1 chances than a higher amount. She sold more tickets thus making up for the smaller price. I haven't really been too involved in the actual process until now. Some baskets had pretty minimal value but we are lucky to have a jeweler who donates one piece each year that is a fairly nice prize. She said half of all tickets were bought for that. Some baskets only had 15 or 20 tickets. That one had over 500.
I am trying to plan the first ever "Back-To-School Picnic" for the fall. This is going to be ran as a fundraising event. Game booths, concessions, community representatives, and a basket raffle.
The baskets are all going to have a value of appoximately $50.00. We are kicking around:
$2.00 each raffle ticket
OR
$3.00 each raffle ticket/4 for $10.00 (people like getting a deal)
