If your group is seeking donations, the letter s/b on your group's letterhead. It's relatively simple to create a basic template. I put ours together in about three minutes.
We use our school's letterhead, but if you are sending out a mass mailing, you may want to make copies of the letterhead and mail those. That way it doesn't cost as much.
Depends on how quickly you need the letterhead. If your group would like its own I am sure it will need to go to a vote which can take some time depending on your membership. The quickest business route would be to use the school's IMHO.

Our group is going to make a letter to solicit for donations for a raffle in the fall. I know that this letter needs to be on letterhead. My question is - Does it need to be on the school's letterhead or can we create a letterhead for our organization and use that? Since we operate as a seperate entity, I don't think it would be an issue, just curious what everyone else does.
