We have copies available at each meeting as well as having it posted on our website for those who don't make it to the meetings. We will also send a hardcopy to any parent who requests it.

Not that anyone reads it, I send home a letter that lists everything the PTO pays for. I like to inform parents about everything that we do and everything that we pay for. Parents at our school have no excuse to say that they didn't know about a particular event or meeting.
monthly finance statement attached to monthly minutes, posted at school on bulletin board and on school website/parent group info page, every month, keeps all informed who wish to be.
A couple years ago I did a display in the school that was themed "Where Does the PTO Money Go?" I put in a copy of the budget along with photos of events and some signs describing various programs and events we sponsor. Last year we sent a copy of the budget out to every family. I'm sure there were many who didn't even look at it, but for those who were interested or questioning what exactly the PTO does, it gave them a very detailed look of how much money it takes to support all the programs and events and it showed them how important their support of our fundraisers was to making our our school a better place.
