I'd suggest starting with a discussion of needs and priorities.
I'd highly recommend setting a good chunk aside for growing involvement -- family events, family services (even for next year).
And I'd be remiss if I didn't highly recommend investing in making your group better (training, materials, PTO manager software -- www.ptomanager.com
) . That small investment is the kind of thing that gets you more volunteers, more involvement and a more effective school/group in the years ahead.
WOW! To have that much to spend now. Our teachers would love to have projectors. The kids would love more playground equipment. More money for field trips. Assemblies, more family nights... Oh, it's endless.
Have fun spending it.
Let me get this straight you have made $20,000 this year and haven't spent it or know what to spend it on?? Oh to be in your world. Just curious as to why you kept fundraising if you had no specific goal in mind? I am afraid I can't help you much as what to do with it because we spend all of our money on family events all year long and truly stay away from supplies, equipment things like that. What would the teachers like to see you do with it?? have fun spending it... just for the record we will be ending the year with a little under a thousand dollars. That's how well we are at spending money....ha ha ha
"When you stop learning you stop growing."
I would love to have that much to spend. Our teachers don't have a lounge, and we are working towards that. Our weather is unpredictable, and the principal has given us the ok to do an indore recess activity room, and we are a science magnet, so we are having a greenhouse put in on school grounds. The cost of greenhouse $2500, labor donated. Lounge, room and equipment was already here, but need to do some foofooing, and want to purchase a tv, I am thinking $500, and our indoor playground, that has not been decided, but we have allocated $3000 to this project.
Our meeting TONIGHT we will vote on how to spend the money we have raised this year.........It is over $20,000. I need some new suggestions to bring to the board on how to spend this money!!!
