I believe that I found the poem in the website in another post. Here goes:
The time is long, and the process slow
To make a lovely garden grow
A kindly word or smile today
May help some child along the way
To lift it's head, grow straight and tall
Reach out a helping hand to all.
Rewards are great in the afterwhile
For those who teach a little child.....
At the bottom of the page/poem we came up with this:
Thank you for doing such a great job with all our children everyday and for being so dedicated and having their best interest first and foremost always.
Your PTO Group of Parents
There are a few more poems in this website, but we are not allowed to use anything that has a religous reference (GOD). So, this is the one that we decided to use.
Barb- Where did you find the thank you poem?
We're always looking for new ideas for teacher appreciation gifts, any chance you
could post the poem here?
Thanks
Hi there. This year we are doing great things for our teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week.
On Monday we are serving them all breakfast (got 6 dozen donuts donated), Tuesday is candy bars (grand bars, donated~pending), Wednesday is memory books created by their students (during Art classes), Thursday is a Thank You poem (printed on fancy paper & put in frames, donated~pending), and Friday is a Catered lunch-donated subs, and their gift (Inscribed notebooks~we bought under $2 each).
Also each day of the week, we are having a drawing for the staff where they can win a great prize (all donated from local businesses). We are also holding a baby picture contest for the staff~the one who guesses the most correct wins a weekend getaway at a caverns in pennsylvania (donated).
Before I got involved with this school this year, I didnt think that living in the city (Baltimore) you would be able to get many things donated, but the local businesses have sure proved me wrong. It's out there, all you have to do is write a letter and ask!
We usually appreciate our teachers at our convienence. We've done many things in the past for them and our staff aslo. We always give certificates with the gift. This year, we provided 2 dinners (on Parent/Teacher conference nights), gift certificates, and post it boards for their rooms. In the past we have given candles and treats for the lounge. Don't forget you bus drivers - without them, the teachers would have nothing to do!!!!!!
