We have a PTO set up in our elementary school. We try to provide for our children where the school doesn't. I really need to know what the PTO is supposed to do and what expenses should the PTO be taking on in the school. Our PTO has recently given our playground equipment a face lift because our Principal has neglected to ask our school board for funds for this project. We sanded and repainted all of the equipment ourselves and footed the bill ourselves. Is that something that can be expected from a PTO? I would really like to have a set of guidelines or a list of what can be expected from a PTO to submit to our school board and Principal. Our Principal, I believe, tries to put down the PTO for everything, but yet reaps in the rewards when compliments are made. Never once is the PTO given the credit it deserves. Are we being taken advantage of????
