Thanks! I use Microsoft Publisher for the newsletter. It allows me a bit more flexibility then Word does. (Plus Word and I have never gotten along well.... lol.)

If I can figure out the file exchange I'll be happy to share the template later this afternoon.

I did notice that publisher files won't up load in the file exchange. (Unless I missed something!) I can share it as a PDF or Jpeg but that will not share the text flow columns, etc. that are set up. If anyone wants it in the publisher format please let me know! My email is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. I'll do better about remembering where I posted and checking back too! ;)

Great format for your newsletter. If anyone has any suggestions on what programs to use I would really appreciate it.

Your newsletters look awesome! Could you tell us what program you use to create them?

Thanks! :)

Our site is TES PTO . You will find a link to the newsletters on the site.

Good idea on the Who's Who for the PTO board. Our newsletter is almost always full! Not just PTO items but we also allow the resource teachers to use it as an outlet for information.

Here is another idea - we also did a "Who's Who" for PTO members! We have lots of parent turnover (we are an early learning center of pre-k to 1st grade) and the teachers and parents never were quite sure who was who. I included a picture of the PTO member, their role (officer/chair/committee member) and a little about themselves. It was a huge hit!
