I think Tim's right. Your computer must have cookies/passwords stored so that that site already recognizes you and takes you directly to your account.
For me, I get to a login screen. Once I login, I see the documents I've set up. When you go into a doc or spreadsheet, over on the right are two tabs called SHARE and PUBLISH. Depending on what your settings are, that's who can see or edit the files.

If you click on it, I think anyone can see it.
Actually, I thought these tools were really very cool when I learned of them but no one else (at the time) wanted to "play", so I haven't had much reason to go back to them.
I do still think there are some great applications for parent groups.
