Take the idea above about "flocking" a volunteer with the pinkl flamingos..... now think about those folks who would be mortified to wake up to the flamingos.
Flock insurance is for those folks. If you want the insurance to be fun, then maybe they have to pay $1 a month or $5 for the year to guarantee they won't be flocked. Or maybe it's $1 each meeting (and you have to be at the meeting!). If you want it to be more of a fundraiser, you might charge $25 for the insurance.
Shoot... sorry you missed it. I'm actually sitting here still in our Tampa meeting room getting some work done before I head back to the cold.
We had a great morning with lots of good ideas shared.
One of my favorites: A "making your group fun" idea where a group purchased 20-30 pink flamingos and once a month the group sneaks out in the middle of the nights and "flocks" a volunteer, decorating the volunteers' lawn with flamingos.
Of course, volunteers can also buy "flock insurance." Kind of cool, I think.
I was scheduled to go the the Jams conference in Tampa today, but was not able to make it. With gas at $3 a gallon and living 80 miles from there one way, my budget couldn't take it. I know I should have ask the board for $$, but decided against it. If anyone went please tell me how it went and share what you learned.
