Thanks one and all for all the great support. Lucella, I do know stophitting.com so well. The executive director, Nadine Block, has become a friend and mentor. When I wrote my first letter to the editor of our local paper, she contacted me, and really put a fire under me. She forwarded my letter to Jordan Riak, the Executive Director of Project No Spank, nospank.net, and I am now on the Board of Directors there. See that website, and look at the North Carolina section. You can acutally see photos of the injuries that children are sustaining in the name of discipline at schools. This is unbelievable.
It was my lucky day to post on this forum and find incredible, resourceful, supportive people. Thank you so much for all of your help. Oprah would be a homerun, grandslam homerun, let's all ask for help! There is strength in numbers.
If nothing else, I have stirred up some very powerful community leaders here, and heightened the awareness that this is still going on in the year 2006.
