we did our staff appreciation week this past week, the biggest hit was dessert day when volunteers sent in desserts. it was a huge hit and we received so many that we set it up for a second day, the hint is to send the letter home to school wide volunteers. We also gave little gifts each day with a cute saying and for our principal we had all of the staff and students do their handprints and sneaked into his office and hung them on his wall. He loved that and it looks so cute! Little things mean alot to these people and can truly help that realtionship!
we made a teacher tree -- each child writes on a leaf or apple (construction paper) what they liked best about his her teacher, or what they learned, or what they want to thank their teacher for. then glued them on a construction paper tree, or hanged them from a real branch with yarn, to give the teacher a personalized souvenir of what each kid appreciated most about the year. the child could also sketch a 'self-portrait' or just sign their name on the construction paper leaf , or paste a small photo of themselves, if htey dont want to write anything (or are too young to write).
Thanks to the person who had the Red Carpet theme idea!!! Our staff LOVED the movie trivia but, was absolutely crazy about the staff baby pictures on our bulletin board! We decorated the workroom in black, gold & silver movie themed items. I did the bulletin board in there like a movie sign and put "Now Showing" and each day put up a new "movie title" that went along with our school. We've had a blast this week! Thanks again! It's great to use this site and get such awesome ideas and tips!!
