We had our Teacher Appreciation Day Luncheon yesterday and it was a BIG HIT!!! We gave the teachers an HOUR lunch and they LOVED IT!!! We had TONS of food and drinks, and gifts galore!! It was great!!
This year and last year we did a flyer home to parents, having something for each day of Teacher Appreciation Week, a flower from the yard (and the PTO bought extra carnations and had them for kids who forgot or whose parents did not send them), a homemade card from the student, a food treat from the student, a party at the end of the week. The teachers like it.
impersonal, but useful: gift card for the teacher to use on discretionary classrm supplies........inside a thank you card signed by each child in class.
we do the one flower (store bought OR from garden) per student too, and one parent provides a vase and thank you card. we do it every year, the teachers love it.
