In previous years, we handed out our pamphlets with a welcome note and a calendar of events and meetings that were occurring over the remainder of the school year with an invitation to attend. We then had a representative speak about the group. I think it helps to have a face or faces you recognize and know as a parent who is experienced at the school. I know I've had new parents call me or catch me at the school at the beginning of the next year to ask questions.

You know, that's a great idea!!! That would be a good way to help the new parents feel welcomed into the PTO even prior to next year! Maybe a small flyer just letting them know what the PTO does and what the fundraising money goes towards? I know our parents like to know how the money is being spent. Think we might try doing that for our kindergarten round up! Thanks!

We distro a ton of stuff...a membership form, a directory form, a 2 welcome brochures (one with general information and one with committee information) and then we join the principal at her walkthroughs of the school for the new parents so we can introduce ourselves and be of assistance. We also start registering new parents for email updates at registration. Gets everyone on board at the same time....dianna
