No Box Tops

Still waiting to hear from the ADmin about this but still collecting. I may as well! If anything the PTO can take it as a fundrasier and I can still make sure the funds go towards the Library Resourse area for the teachers.

I don't need volunteers, actually have plenty, it's the SCHOOL ADMIN that is saying NO! UGH!

tradechi,

This is a little off subject but I was intrigued. What is a Volunteer Coupon Book?

We have one taecher taht runs it. He uses a opride workshop (this employs adults that are menatlly challenged) They clip all our boxtops and bundle them, plus they come into the classroom and spend time with the kids. It is awin win situiation we get our boxtops down and our students are intrudced to a variety of new situations and people. The workers from PRIDE get to keep busy and earn money (not sure where the money comes from I know it is not us) and we tell them all the time how we could not do it without them.

We send out a volunteer coupon book at the beginning of the year and ask for both Room Reps and Box Tops volunteers and many others of course. We get plenty of volunteers for both. The Room Reps don't have extra burden of box tops and box tops can be sent home through the backpacks, done at home by a working parent or maybe one that has little ones at home and can't make it in during school hours. Each semester we have popcorn parties for the top 2 contributors. We made $2K last year.

All of our teachers receive an 10" x 13" envelope w/ a chart attatched. The Room Parent collects, counts and fills out the chart once a month. Then the room mother puts all the labels in a box for the coordinator. The coordinator takes care of the rest per what each company asks when sending in labels.

Don't give up - keep fighting for those collections. We continually advertise these as easy fundraisers where parents don't have to do anymore than they already are. Parents love that!

Good luck!

Michele

Thnaks Michele! I LOVE the idea of having the room parents do the work as I know that will be an issue (she- the Princ.- doesn't want the teachers having any more to do etc). Also somuch of the stuff we need are on the list already! AND a local grocery store runs specials that double our points! I'm going nuts waiting for an answer on when we can met...can ya tell? lol! :D

Thanks everyone!

Yeah basically the teacher, shoot EVERYONE that has chaired this is now gone and I'm willing to prove to this Elem. Principal that I'm here for the long run (my two yr old is already on the kindergarten waiting list!).

22,000!!!! HOLY trimming C.Brooks!! We are K-12 about 1200 students with the majority in K-6. I just think done right, this could be huge! UGH.

I HATE meetings, you know the ones on their tuff and terms.

You can bet I will give you all an update!

Thanks!!! :D
